The project

The goal since the beginning has been to explore the potential of vocal polyphony, both a cappella and with the accompaniment of musical instruments. Precisely because of this characteristic, Una e Cinque has tackled various genres of a cappella music or with instrumental accompaniment: from the classic Renaissance, to Jazz, up to some unpublished pop music creations.

Collaborations

In the theatrical field, the Ensemble has collaborated with the Gruppo Artisti Associati Teatro San Filippo in Turin, taking part in various shows.

In the field of contemporary music, L’Una e Cinque took part in a project by the composer Claudio Mantovani realizing the choral parts of “Pulcra Margarita”, with the composer Stefano Maccagno for the piece Libertà 1942 (poem by P. Eluard); he also created the piece “Credo” by the Latvian composer U. Praulins.

In 2005, with Fausto Caporali (professor of Organ and Gregorian chant at the Turin Conservatory) the Ensemble took part in a review of Christmas Gregorian chants held in Reggio Emilia.

With the composer Andrea Ravizza, the Ensemble records the song “Canzone Unica”.

In the field of light music he has created some unpublished songs with instrumental accompaniment:
• C’era una volta il tè (Marco Andrioletti, Gianluca Savia)
• La facia del gatto (Andrea Casamento).

L’Una e Cinque has created theme songs for cartoons written and produced by M. Bouvet for Lastregò&Testa in Turin.
